We’re reinvesting in our front line and bringing all the local Westpac expertise – branch, home lending, business banking and financial planning – together under one roof. Our team are here to support you and our local community.
With its solid business credentials and strong community spirit, when Westpac made its recent moves to bring bank managers back to local branches, Blackwood was high on the priority list.
Return to the traditional model of banking
Local resident, Tony Davenport has been appointed as the new Bank Manager in Blackwood. The position is a return to the traditional model of banking where the Bank Manager has the autonomy to make decisions for customers locally and to provide personal advice.
Having lived in the Blackwood Area for the past 45 years, Tony understands what is important to the local community and economy.
“My main aim is to ensure banking with us is simpler,” said Tony.
“The role I have is pretty similar to other businesses in Blackwood, I have to be responsible for my staff, customers and the bottom line.”
Your personal, professional financial expert
“My first priority as local manager will be to really get to know our current customers. My goal is to understand my customer’s individual needs and to be their personal, professional financial expert. I’ve also a great team of people at the Branch who will continue to work closely with the customers and the community,” he said. “I am happy to visit customers in their homes or business premises, hopefully making it simpler for people to do business with us,” said Tony.
Supporting the local community
"As well as doing business, I am also committed to increasing our support of the local community. I am looking forward to opportunities to be involved in the events and activities that are important to Blackwood”
