The Blackwood Recreation Centre, located on
the Blackwood High School site, features
a two court indoor stadium with a sprung timber floor, a permanent gymnastics
area, fitness studio, supervised playroom, four change rooms and large foyer/eatery area.
The Blackwood Community Recreation
Association (BCRA) has a long and proud
tradition providing recreation programs in the Blackwood area for over 100
years.
The BCRA's aims and objectives are to promote and provide recreational opportunities for the
whole community including clubs and people with a disability.
The facility is an important regional sport
and recreation facility for metropolitan Adelaide with many people visiting the
centre each week. It provides a number of specialised facilities for
gymnastics, trampolining, roller skating and in-line hockey. The
centre also caters for the indoor sport and recreation needs of the Blackwood High
School which has access to one of the
courts during school hours.
The centre offers in excess of twenty regular
activities including the full range of court sports, health and well being,
dancing, in-line hockey, roller skating, martial arts, gymnastics and passive
activities.
